The Emergency Coordination Center mobilized three air means early this afternoon to put out the fire that was revived locally today by the force of the wind in the Villanueva de Viver fire, in the interior of the province of Castellón, which Yesterday it was considered controlled at 7:00 p.m.
The alert for the reproduction of some outbreaks was given by the Castellón Provincial Council Fire Department at around 12:30 p.m. when detecting sources of fire, sources from the Valencian Generalitat Security and Emergency Agency have reported.
Subsequently, three aerial means were mobilized, one of them with a helicopter-borne unit of forest firefighters to put out the fire fanned by the strong wind blowing in the area.
In addition to the air resources, on the ground seven units of forest firefighters from the Generalitat, six fire engines, three fire prevention units from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and a Forest Fire Response Unit ( URAF) of the Firefighters of the Provincial Council of Castellón.
The fire, which started on March 23 in a ravine with a large forest mass and high ecological value in Villanueva de Viver, in the Alto Mijares region of Castellón, has burned 4,700 hectares in the nine days that it remains active in a perimeter of 50 kilometers.
The investigation into the possible cause that gave rise to this fire focuses on some workers who were doing cleaning tasks in the municipality of Villanueva de Viver, since it is in that area where the ignition source has been located.
