Sezar Blue is a youtuber from Madrid who is well known for commenting on the food in the restaurants he has tried. In recent days he has been in the news for a completely different event. He was broadcasting a direct from his Tesla when he was struck by a truck during a traffic jam caused by a collision between two vehicles.
This past weekend he connected to his Twitch channel to talk about the accident. He confessed what he thought at the moment of impact. "The truck hits me. I understand that it has hit me and that nothing has happened, but I see that it passes by the side and I think 'My goodness! The Tesla is bothering me!'
"I was very nervous and even though I honked I couldn't do anything else, because the truck didn't realize it and he must have thought it was a pothole, a Tesla pothole," added Sezar Blue.
During the streaming, he explained that he has received many comments related to the blind spot of the trucks, and many questions about why he did not move out of the way to avoid the impact.
"I was in a line of vehicles and I had nowhere to go because I had more cars in front and on the right as well. In a constant retention, what can I avoid with the rear-view mirror if I have cars everywhere? If I do a passive evasive maneuver "I don't do anything like using the horn. Sezar Blue is also a driving school teacher by profession, and about the accident he added that he would reanalyze the images to see where the truck driver was looking, since he was not in the blind spot of this vehicle. “I will make a video analyzing the cameras to see if I see the girl's face looking where you shouldn't look. That is a mistake that occurs a lot in the driving school. At the driving school we look a lot at the student's eyes to see where they are looking and correct many mistakes, ”he explained.
The direct was made from a replacement car, a Suzuki whose model he did not remember. Getting it was almost a tongue twister, as he himself indicated. And it is that the fine print of the insurers limited him a bit, according to his needs. So instead of contacting Liberty after the accident, he decided to call RACE, as they guaranteed him a replacement vehicle for 10 days, although for an unknown reason, he can only have it for 8. Once the time is up, he will contact with Liberty to dispose of the car for 7 more days.
The repair of the Tesla will take more than 17 days, and as Sezar Blue himself recounted, this accident has caused him a lot of financial damage. "I am self-employed and I have lost many hours of work. That is never paid for. The car has lost a lot of value. That is not quantified and I have to go in a replacement car that, in comparison, is shit. I pay a thousand and a half euros a month for having the Tesla. If I am without it, I will spend 3,000 euros without going in a car that I am not enjoying and that is devaluing"
One of the many questions that Sezar Blue has received was why the Tesla did not make the usual warning beep in this situation. The youtuber said that "when it is close to another vehicle, Tesla warns you, but in this case he did not warn", and claimed that perhaps it was because it was another vehicle that was approaching.
In line with the benefits of this brand of car, he also answered several questions. He assured that Tesla batteries are very durable and gave as an example a witness who was mentioned to him in the official garage of the brand in Madrid.
