This is how the Spotify Camp Nou works progress

The Spotify Camp Nou is immersed in its biggest remodeling. The excavators are working non-stop to meet the deadlines and be able to open the new field at the end of 2024. At the moment the work is progressing well and all deadlines are being met. With the majority of the demolition work now completed, the image left by the Camp Nou is overwhelming. Only the skeleton of the first and second stands remains standing, that initial structure built in 1957, the heritage that will endure in the new stadium.

Nearly half a thousand people work on this pharaonic project that will end up with a stadium with 104,000 seats, two 360-degree VIP rings and a constructed area of 228,000 square meters. The work started on June 1 and in these four months it has been peeling off all the layers, the grass, the seats, the ceilings, the façade... until it remains a skeleton. Thousands of tons have been removed and activity is frenetic from morning to night six days a week.

The construction company in charge of the work, Limak, intends to build the stadium in pieces outside of Barcelona, to avoid problems with the neighborhood. Once completed, they will be moved to the stadium and assembled one by one, which is known as a continuous construction plan, something very common in countries like the United States.

If the deadlines continue to be met, the forecast is to open the new Camp Nou in November next year, with a capacity limited to 70,000 seats in the first and second stands. In June 2025 the stadium will be practically finished, with only the VIP boxes missing. The inauguration with one hundred percent of the Blaugrana temple completed will not be until September 24, 2026, coinciding with the date on which the old Camp Nou was inaugurated.
