They steal a 70,000-euro watch from Lewandowski before a Barça training session

Robert Lewandowski has lived this Thursday his first bad experience in Barcelona. The Barça striker suffered the theft of a watch valued at 70,000 euros near the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper, where the Pole was on his way to train.

Culés fans tend to gather at the gates of the venue to take photos with their idols. Lewandowski stopped with his car to meet three young men and sign autographs, but when he rolled down the window a fourth man approached, grabbed the watch from his wrist and fled.

As revealed by TV3 after consulting police sources, the soccer player tried to catch the thief himself by chasing him with the car, but lost sight of him. It was then that he notified the Barça security manager, who called the local police in Sant Joan Despí. Between that police force and the Mossos d'Esquadra they began the search for the man of legal age who had no relationship with the young people who made Lewandowski stop.

The thief, who crossed the B-23 on foot, was finally arrested and confessed to the looting. He is detained in Cornellà. He also reported where he had hidden the Patek Phillippe brand watch: in an orchard area near the sports city. After the scare, Lewandowski was able to recover his belongings hours later.

The player placed himself under the orders of Xavi Hernández to prepare for next Sunday's game against Real Sociedad at Anoeta. After the goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano in his official debut with Barça, the Pole will seek to release his goalscoring locker this season.
