On Saturday, Maritime Rescue personnel rescued two boats with a hundred migrants who were located in waters near the Canary Islands, according to sources from the public body, the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 and Cruz. Red.

At about 8:00 p.m. yesterday, Saturday, the Sasemar 103 plane informed the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Las Palmas of the sighting of a pneumatic boat about 30 kilometers south of Gran Canaria. The Center mobilized the salvamar 'Macondo' and diverted the ship 'Giselle', the closest to the position of the boat, which remained escorting it until the salvamar spotted the pneumatic boat.

As for the other vessel, around 5:20 p.m. yesterday, Saturday, the Sasemar 103 plane, on a reconnaissance flight, notified the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Las Palmas that it had sighted a pneumatic boat about 12 miles from Fuerteventura.

The Center mobilized the salvamar 'Mizar', which spotted the boat around 6:50 p.m. and proceeded to rescue the 56 people who were on board: 46 men and 10 women, of North African and sub-Saharan origin, in apparent good health. They were landed around 11:30 p.m. in Puerto del Rosario, in Fuerteventura. He was transferred to a health center due to hypothermia.
