In fact, the teacher, 42 years old and from Jaén, was arrested in 2022 for exercising this type of sexual violence against a girl in Santiago de la Espada (Jaén) and investigated for another similar case in the same year at a school in Prado del Rey (Cádiz). After that, the teacher has continued to practice in the educational field although in a different municipality. From Prado del Rey he was assigned to Arcos de la Frontera, also in the province of Cadiz, where on November 9 he was arrested again for the alleged commission of a crime of sexual abuse of two minors, aged 8 and 9, at which he subjected to friction and touching.
Now, the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents of Andalusia, Jesús Maeztu, has announced that his organization will act ex officio to clarify how a teacher with such a background can continue to work at a school. The judge handling the case decreed a series of precautionary measures against him while the case is being investigated, including a restraining order on the two victims and on the educational centers, as well as the suspension of employment and salary during the period of six months while the facts are investigated by the department.
The mayor of the Cadiz town, Miguel Rodríguez, praised the judge's decision to protect the affected minors, since he provided the support of the council to the girls and their families.
