A boat spotted this Saturday the lifeless body of a man floating 200 meters from the coast between Tossa de Mar and Santa Cristina d'Aro. After alerting emergencies, the Maritime Rescue, the Mossos and the Mossos Maritime Police were present at the scene; the Fire Department and the Local Police of Santa Cristina d'Aro.
At the moment the victim has not been identified although police sources confirm that he is a middle-aged man, between 40 and 50 years old, who was also dressed in street clothes.
Mossos d'Esquadra has opened an investigation to try to clarify the facts and the cause of death, since it is not yet known whether the body shows signs of violence.
To remove the body from the water, Mossos has mobilized its Maritime Police troops in Palamós and after rescuing the body they have taken it to a nearby port to proceed to examine it and continue the investigation.
