They demand the dismissal of the director of Justice of Aragon for flaunting Francoism

The Socialist Party (PSOE) and Podemos have demanded from the President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, the "immediate" dismissal of its Director General of Justice, Esmeralda Pastor, for "not meeting constitutional values" and "flaunting Francoism" through their social networks.

Recently appointed Director General of Justice of the Government of Aragon, Esmeralda Pastór proceeded to delete her Facebook photographs in which she appears next to a Francoist flag and to eliminate several publications that made reference to Francisco Franco.

Pastor was appointed last Thursday, along with 26 other senior officials of the new regional executive, head of the Justice area, which reports to the first vice presidency held by Alejandro Nolasco, leader of Vox. The regional president, Jorge Azcón, of the Popular Party, which governs Aragon thanks to a pact with Vox, has not spoken.

From the PSOE they have questioned what type of professional profile is the one chosen by Jorge Azcón to represent a sector that, above all, "must ensure the preservation of democratic principles and the rule of law." Likewise, they have blamed the President of the Government for bringing "a new profile similar to that of the President of the Cortes", Marta Fernández.

The socialist spokesperson in the Aragonese parliament, Mayte Pérez, has rejected the values of Esmeralda Pastor who in networks "advocates denialism, denies sexist violence and defends the legacy of the dictator Franco." For this reason, he has advanced that his group will request the dismissal of the general director if Jorge Azcón does not dismiss her before and regrets that "we will once again have a new position that, like the president of the Cortes, once again puts into question the image of Aragon".
