The officers decided to stop him, but the occupants "ignored" the instructions and began a high-speed escape through the streets of the city, in which they passed several traffic lights in their red phase. This created a "serious danger" for some pedestrians who were trying to cross the pedestrian crossing, and some had to react by jumping to avoid being run over.
