Agents of the National Police have arrested the leader of a destructive sect in the province of Castellón as the alleged perpetrator of ill-treatment and a crime against sexual freedom. The victim required psychological therapy due to the sexual and physical assaults to which she was subjected, which were of a particularly degrading nature. In the sect, of a pseudo-shamanic nature, substances such as ayahuasca were regularly consumed, which can nullify the judgment of consumers and 16,880 euros and 1,284 US dollars have been seized.
The investigation began last February, when the agents learned of the existence of a community settled in a town in the province of Castellón and that it would be operating in different parts of the national territory, as well as with connections in other countries. As a result of this fact, a victim was located who was psychologically very affected after her passage through the sect and had been subjected to continuous ill-treatment, serious harassment, physical and even sexual assaults by the leader.
The detainee's modus operandi consisted of progressively annulling the victim's decision-making capacity with promises such as "being chosen" to spend the rest of their lives together and maintain a relationship, which would almost immediately lead to habitual abuse. of physical attacks, harassment, and the imposition of degrading sexual practices with the excuse of "healing his soul", all accompanied by serious psychological damage that caused one of his victims a state of anxiety and continuous fear.
In order to obtain the result of the social isolation to which the victim was subjected, the detainee withdrew all contacts from her phone and continuously inspected her activity, which made it difficult for a third person to be aware of this situation and could help her leave the sect.
Despite the strong social isolation to which the victim was subjected, after a very violent episode he managed to travel to another city where he received psychological help that made him understand the serious situation he was going through.
The detainee maintained contacts in other countries and dedicated himself to the practice of talks and spiritual activities in exchange for financial donations. After setting up a surveillance device at the Manises (Valencia) airport, the agents proceeded to arrest the leader of the sect, who had supposedly participated in a US withdrawal, having arrived in Spain with a large amount of undeclared money that He was intervened and he could not justify. The investigation remains open and the location of more victims who were related to this sect is not ruled out.
