These are the ten finalist novels for the 2022 Planeta Prize

The Planeta award is just around the corner. This Saturday, the jury will give its verdict and the winner and finalist will be announced, which last year went to Carmen Mola, or what is the same, Antonio Mercero, Agustín Martínez and Jorge Díaz, for his novel La bestia. Second place went to Paloma Sánchez-Garnica for Last Days in Berlin.

In this edition, 846 originals have participated, which is a participation record, Grupo Planeta has reported in a statement. And of all of them, ten works have been finalists.

They are El avionazo, a story of Frida and Marilyn, by José Manuel Mata Muñoz; Feathers and sand, by Álex Oneida (pseudonym); The nila of the castle of almond trees in bloom, by Fernando Preto Rodríguez (pseudonym); Magdalena, the look of the heart, by Ho Hanan (pseudonym), and My wife's lover, by Gabriela Hausmann (pseudonym).

They are also finalists More than seven thousand kilometers, by Alma Browncross (pseudonym); The city of illusions, by Manuel Millán Sánchez; Upstream, from Ash Leaf (pseudonym); The weaknesses of the Führer. History of a race: the German shepherds, by Iñaki Carrera (pseudonym), and The harpist, by David Galindo Martínez.

The jury for the award is made up of José Manuel Blecua, Fernando Delgado, Juan Eslava Galán, Pere Gimferrer, Carmen Posadas, Rosa Regàs and Belén López, secretary with vote.

The celebration of the LXXI Premio Planeta will take place next Saturday, October 15 in Barcelona during a literary dinner at the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC).
