These are the new best food photos in the world

The English photographer Jon Enoch has been the great winner of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2023 food photography awards, the most prestigious contest in the world in this category that has just announced the winners of its twelfth edition.

Captured on a street in Mumbai (India) at night, Enoch's image shows a man selling cotton candy, whose pink color contrasts with the sobriety of the rest of the street. This shot has not only led Enoch to win the £5,000 'Best Food Photography 2023' award, but also the title of Photographer of the Year and first prize in the 'Street Food' category.

"The winning image was part of a personal project - a tremendous amount of time and thought went into capturing it, so it's great to be recognized by such an esteemed panel of judges," Enoch explained.

The panel of judges included Fiona Shields, chief photographer for The Guardian, and Rein Skullerud of the United Nations World Food Program. The winners were announced by Nadiya Hussain, at a ceremony at the Baftas in London.

The exhibition of the 2023 finalist images will take place at The Royal Photographic Society, in Bristol (United Kingdom), on June 11 as part of Photography in Focus in which various international photography competitions will be present, but below we show you the award-winning images in the different categories of this contest that is increasingly having more international repercussions and is open to both professionals and amateurs.
