The heat does not let up in Spain. Thirteen communities continue this Tuesday on alert for very high temperatures, with special incidence in Aragon, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, where there is a red warning (extreme risk) for values that will reach up to 43 degrees, according to the State Meteorological Agency ( Aemet).
In the Balearic Islands, Mallorca has activated the red warning in the north, northeast and interior of the island due to maximum temperatures that will reach 43 degrees above all between localities such as Inca, Sa Pobla, Santa Margalida and Sineu; in the Sierra de Tramontana and in the south, the highs will range between 40-41 degrees.
Catalonia also has a red warning in Girona and Lleida, where the maximum will rise to 42 degrees in areas of Ampurdán and the Central Depression respectively, while in the rest of the provinces there is an orange warning (significant risk) for values between 37 and 41 degrees.
The third community where the red alert for extreme risk has been activated is Aragón. Highs of up to 43 degrees are expected on the banks of the Ebro in Zaragoza, 42 degrees in the south of Huesca and in Bajo Aragón de Teruel.
The intense heat will affect almost the entire country. In Andalusia, the provinces of Córdoba, Granada, Jaén and Málaga have an orange level (significant risk) due to maximum values between 40 and 42 degrees. In Castilla-La Mancha, the entire community has activated the orange alert for records between 37 and 41 degrees.
The Community of Madrid continues with an orange level in points of the metropolitan area and Henares and in areas of the south, west and Las Vegas for records that will oscillate between 40-41 degrees; in the mountains it will reach 36 degrees.
Nor are they fought on the shores of the Mediterranean. The Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community have activated the orange alert for values that will rise to 40 degrees in the altiplano, Guadalentín valley and the Segura plain, the same ones that will reach inland Valencia.
La Rioja, the Foral Community of Navarra and the Basque Country have an orange warning for highs between 39 and 41 degrees. Extremadura and Castilla y León have a yellow warning (risk) due to heat between 35 and 38 degrees.
The third heat wave of the summer will begin to subside as of Thursday, except in the northwest third, where daytime temperatures will rise slightly, according to the Aemet forecast.
