New sexist aggression in Armilla, Granada. A 47-year-old woman was stabbed last night in the area of ​​her neck by her ex-partner, from whom she was divorced but with whom she lived for some time, in a new episode of gender violence. The victim, who is admitted in a very serious condition at the San Cecilio Clinical Hospital, was included in the Comprehensive Monitoring System in cases of Gender Violence (VioGén), although the case had been "inactive" since 2012, according to what they have pointed out. sources close to the investigation.

The aggressor, a 54-year-old man, was arrested by the Civil Guard in the doorway of the family home after stabbing the woman in the presence of two of her children, a minor boy and a girl, according to municipal sources. He already had a history of other attacks of the same nature. The victim had turned to the Social Services of the Armillero council to request help between 2005, when she divorced, and 2010.

It was the neighbors who reacted to the screams of the couple's youngest son, who went out into the street asking for help, and who called the emergency services shortly before 9:00 p.m. to report the attack that was taking place. Meanwhile, the youngest daughter who was also in the house at the time of the attack tried to defend her mother, also receiving a cut on her hand.

Local Police officers traveled to this point in Armilla, providing first aid to the woman until health personnel arrived to assist the victim. After that, the Civil Guard managed to arrest the aggressor in the same building while the woman was evacuated to the Clinical Hospital in the capital of Granada, where she had to undergo emergency surgery after receiving a stab wound in the neck area. Her prognosis is serious pending evolution, as reported by health sources.

The Armilla City Council has called for a minute of silence this afternoon as a sign of rejection of this sexist aggression, and from the council it has been confirmed that the victim turned to the Social Services for issues related to gender violence between approximately 2005, the year in who got divorced, and 2010. In 2015 she requested help again but this time for issues related to non-payment of alimony.

According to data from the Ministry of Equality, consulted by this newspaper, in the 11 months of this year, 72,297 calls to 016 have been answered, 46,327 complaints for gender violence have been filed (9,346 of them within the Andalusian community), and 81,308 cases have been recorded in the Viogén Monitoring System (21,805 in the south), of which 49,454 have police protection (13,067 Andalusian women).
