The Cathedral of Santa Maria de Girona, with a reddish sky, shines in the so-called “witch hour” due to the special charm it gives off, as we can see in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.

The sky is a reflection of the candilazo, a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors that goes from pink to the most intense orange.

As part of the phenomenon of scattering of sunlight, in the morning and afternoon hours, when the sun is closest to the horizon, the light that reaches Earth is soft tones between red and orange.

In a certain way, when this light passes through the clouds, it illuminates them and it could be said that it colors them with those hues.

The Cathedral of Santa María de Girona is located at the highest point of the city, which allows us to capture these perspectives from the top of the stairs.

The temple hides many jewels beyond its dimensions, interior and exterior details that are worth discovering and rediscovering at different times of the day, such as the so-called “witching hour”.
