The wineries of the Castell d'Or group invest 8 million in their expansion

The Castell d'Or cooperative group inaugurates its new facilities in Vila-rodona (Alt Camp) this coming Saturday, with which it wants to take a new leap, both in volume and sales. It is a new cava cellar with two underground floors, a new logistics warehouse, a social room and a space in which the management and administration departments have been centralized. They have 15,000 m² in Vila-rodona dedicated to the production and sale of cavas and wines.

The investment made in the period 2020-2021 has been 5.5 million euros. Over the past year, and also in Vila-rodona, they have created a new cava disgorging line, worth 2.8 million euros. Castell d'Or also has production centers with packaging lines in the municipalities of L'Arboç and Espluga de Francolí. From the end of 2019 to 2022, they have invested more than eight million euros to improve their facilities, in addition to expanding and extending their commercial networks throughout the world.

They are a limited company with 16 cooperatives, which represent more than 2,200 farming families, the same ones that are part of Cevipe (a second-degree cooperative company from various regions). Castell d'Or produces around nine million bottles a year (80% are cava) and exports 80% of the total to 38 countries. Castell d'Or closed 2022 with a turnover of 20 million, and Cevipe 30 million.

According to Jordi Amell, its managing director, with the new facilities it is possible to produce up to 18 million bottles of cava a year.
