The wind knocks down trees in parts of Valencia and Castellón and forces train lines to be interrupted

Members of the Provincial Firefighters Consortium have intervened in different parts of the provinces of Valencia and Castellón due to falling trees as a result of the strong wind that is hitting different parts of the Valencian Community.

Specifically, as reported by the Valencia security force, since 7:15 a.m. this Thursday they have received eight wind warnings, some of them related to the removal of trees or branches on the CV-390, on 7th Street in Paterna. and on the CV-422 in Turís.

Other notices were related to the cleaning of building facades on Camí Reial de Torrent and the removal of elements at risk of falling such as a uralite and an antenna in Sagunt, Calle Nueva and Calle Alorco respectively. In La Pobla de Farnals, in the Francisco Tomàs y Valiente square, firefighters have responded to a street lamp that has fallen against the branches of a tree.

Firefighters have received other notices about a fallen poplar in Siete Aguas; for a blind at risk of falling in Sagunt and some solar panels at risk in Paterna. For their part, the Castellón troops have had to intervene in Barracas due to the fall of another tree.

In addition, strong gusts of wind have forced the interruption of several train services, including the one that connects València with Utiel on line C-3. This has been reported by Renfe, which has indicated that this service will be interrupted until 4 p.m. and affects the distance between the Buñol and Utiel stations. Alternative road plans have been scheduled for the affected routes.

In addition, adverse weather conditions have also forced the Media Distancia service between the Xàtiva and Alcoi stations to be interrupted until 4 p.m. Renfe has programmed alternative road plans for this journey.

On the other hand, the wind storm is also affecting the service between Segorbe and Teruel, which has had to be suspended until 4 p.m. An alternative road plan has been established.
