Live music, gastronomy and sunsets in a place surrounded by rice fields in the heart of the Costa Brava: the tenth edition of White Summer starts soon. In a commitment to quality and talent, the fields of the Mas Gelabert estate will host concerts, foodtrucks, exhibitors and performing arts from August 5 to 28.
What started as a summer market is now a reference festival. Being a space for leisure, entertainment, creativity and expression, more than 500,000 visitors have chosen to enjoy the magic of White Summer to date.
The festival's poster this year has 20 confirmed artists, both consolidated and emerging, who will offer experiences in the three spaces for concerts that the venue houses. Big names like Amaia, Amadou will sing on the White Summer stage
Every day from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., the most demanding palates will be able to enjoy the wide and varied gastronomic offer of the festival. Among the classics that repeat are Artesans del Foc, with artisan pizzas cooked at the moment in a stone oven, and the Asian cuisine of Yon Wang Xef i Cuina. Others are making their debut: the Bar Alegría, which has already won over the people of Barcelona with its dishes, and Piel de Gallina, a proposal that allows you to travel through flavors, arrive in the Empordà.
The foodtrucks will occupy the most “rogue” space in the White Summer restaurant: the Street Food area, next to the main stage. These stalls conquer through the stomach with their original and fun proposals, and the eye with their careful vintage aesthetic. La Pulponeta will cook dishes such as its octopus roll with paprika mayonnaise or the tuna tataki sandwich; Cal Pastor Foodtruck will be in charge of Mexican specialties; and Laufer Street Food, with classics such as hamburgers, pulled pork or fries.
And as a great novelty, Sant Croi Gelats arrives with gourmet artisan ice creams by pastrychef Albert Roca. Made with local products, they have earned the award for Best Artisan Ice Cream Shop in Spain 2022. Continuing with sweets, María una crep and La Creperie de Mariöne repeat at White Summer with sweet treats that are always a success: crêpes and galettes.
Shopping occupies another of the festival's key spaces: a market with 60 exhibitors offering everything from fashion to toys and allowing you to enjoy a quality ''shopping moment''. Among the brands that will be present at this tenth edition are: Bohodot, with swimwear; Agosto Studio, by influencer Carla Dipinto; and No Ni Ná, by Paz Padilla and her daughter, Anna Ferrer.
Performing arts are also a strong bet at White Summer. The artistic programming of the festival wakes up at sunset with proposals that radiate optimism, art, color, emotion, movement and imagination.
Art workshops, dressing rooms and giant games: the Kids Arena offers the little ones the essence of White Summer so that going to the festival is also the perfect plan for families with children. In addition, in the Wonder Park inflatables and attractions are installed so that the little ones have fun following the rhythm of live music.
The festival has a special area designed to cover all the basic needs of those families who come with babies. The space is Mammaproof certified and has a parking spot for strollers, changing tables, high chairs, breastfeeding chairs and a microwave to heat bottles and food.
