The two faces of the autumn sea in Gavà

If the Mediterranean Sea in autumn is rough, there is wind and waves, it attracts athletes who love surfing; If, on the other hand, it is calm, it invites you to walk and reflect.

This is reflected in this series of snapshots in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia captured on Gavà beach, in Baix Llobregat, a few hours apart.

On the one hand, taking advantage of a moment of calm, we can limit ourselves to listening to the Mediterranean, as in this video. Placid sea and clear sky at the beginning of autumn on Gavà beach, a relaxing pleasure for the eyes and heart.

On the other hand, taking advantage of the wind, we see a kite surfer, an increasingly fashionable sport. When the beaches are empty of bathers, lovers of this aquatic modality take advantage of the Baix Llobregat coast.

Currently, in our country there are one and a half million riders, a figure that increases year after year with 100,000 new athletes who take up kitesurfing in Spain.

The boom that this sport has suffered in recent years has allowed kitesurfing to be an Olympic discipline for the first time in the 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Paris.
