The TSJC accepts the challenge against Judge Carlos Ramos

The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has accepted the disqualification of magistrate Carlos Ramos as a member of the court that must judge the former Bureau of the Parlament for disobedience.

Chamber 77 has accepted the arguments of the former Vice President of Parliament Josep Costa against the magistrate and Ramos will not be part of the court.

The resolution states that the chamber has "never" questioned Ramos' professional prestige but understands that his reports may arouse "in the recusant and also in part of society, the legitimate suspicion of a lack of impartiality."

For this reason, "in guarantee of a fair process", they remove the magistrate from the case definitively. The decision has been taken by majority with two private votes in the opposite direction.
