The 82 ultras of Atlético de Madrid and Deportivo de La Coruña accused of riot and other crimes for the brawl in the surroundings of the Vicente Calderón stadium in which Francisco Javier Romero, Jimmy, died, sit on the bench as of today, Thursday, although some are expected to reach agreements.

This is the cause of the massive fight that broke out on November 30, 2014 in the surroundings of the Vicente Calderón stadium in Madrid, which is the main piece of the case and different from the one that followed the death of Jimmy.

This last piece is pending for the Madrid Court to decide whether to archive it definitively, once the judge did not prosecute anyone for the death because she did not have sufficient evidence to do so.

The massive fight and the death of the Dépor fan shocked the world of football and led to a change in the management of their supporters by the clubs.

In the case of the tumultuous fight, there are 82 defendants for whom the Prosecutor's Office is asking for between nine months and two and a half years in prison, although it is expected that some of them will not sit on the bench because they are willing to reach an agreement with the Public Ministry, although this point will be confirmed at the beginning of the trial, legal sources specify to EFE.

Initially there are 17 sessions planned and the trial will start this Thursday with the previous questions.

To guarantee security, it has been determined that twenty defendants intervene by videoconference from A Coruña, ten from Gijón and the rest from the courtroom of Criminal Court number 23 in Madrid. Thus the ultras of Deportivo de la Coruña and Atlético de Madrid will not meet.

The Prosecutor's Office requests nine months in prison for all of them for a crime of tumultuous fight with the aggravating circumstance of ideological discrimination. In addition to five of them he applies the aggravating circumstance of recidivism and raises the request to one year in prison.

For two defendants, he requests another year in prison for the crime of assault and another ten months for the crime of injury. He also claims another eighteen months in prison for four of them for the crime of illegal possession of weapons.

Thus the penalties range from 9 months in prison to two and a half years in prison.

For its part, the Professional Soccer League (LFP), which exercises popular prosecution, asks for between one to three and a half years in prison, although it specifies that the penalties for some crimes could be replaced by fines ranging between 72,000 and 117,000. euros.

The Prosecutor's Office explains that on November 30, 2014, fans of the Frente Atlético and Riazor Blues, with contrary political ideologies - the former extreme right and the latter extreme left - "convened on social networks" to attend at 09:00 hours in the vicinity of the stadium with the "sole motivation of demonstrating to the other group the supremacy of his team and the ideology with which he identifies himself".

There they hit each other and many of the defendants were injured, as well as several policemen, while Jimmy died without it being known until now who were the material records of his death.
