The tourism industry begins a new era: the trends of the sector are presented in Seville

Tourism is an economic sector that shows special dynamism, which is firmly committed to creativity and innovation and which, in recent times, has shown all its capacity for resilience and the solidity of companies and professionals, overcoming the various periods of confinement arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, from Wednesday, November 2 to Friday, November 4, the Seville Conference and Exhibition Center (FIBES) will host the third edition of the tourism and technological innovation summit TIS – Tourism Innovation Summit 2022, which will bring together more than 6,000 leaders from the industry to address such important issues for this sector as the most effective ways to face current challenges and new traveler demands, and the most effective ways to create new experiences or discover new trends and solutions to transform a tourism business or destiny.

The TIS programming will be structured around five axes that are truly strategic for the sector: innovation, recovery of traveler confidence after the pandemic, digitization, sustainability and inclusive tourism, which summarize the challenges that the national and international tourism business fabric faces today.

In addition, more than 150 exhibiting firms will present the latest solutions in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, cybersecurity, Big Data

During these three days, more than 400 experts from all over the world will share ideas, trends, strategies and success stories that, in their opinion, are really inspiring to successfully face a new era in tourism.

Among them, we find Gerd Leonhard, keynote speaker and CEO of The Futures Agency; Ada Xu, Regional Director EMEA of Fliggy – Alibaba Group; Cristina Polo, EMEA market analyst at Phocuswright; Bas Lemmens, CEO of Meetings.com and President of Hotelplanner EMEA; Misa Labarile, policy officer of the European Commission; Kees Jan Boonen, Head of Sustainability at Booking.com.

And also to Sergio Oslé, CEO of Telefónica; Eleni Skarveli, director of Visit Greece, UK and Ireland; Wouter Geerts, director of research at Skift; Deepak Ohri, CEO of Lebua Hotels and Resorts; Jelka Tepsic, Deputy Mayor of Dubrovnik; Emily Weiss, Global Travel Industry Lead at Accenture; o Eduardo Santander, CEO of the European Travel Commission; and many more.

The Tourism Innovation Global Summit will feature 8 vertical forums for each segment of the industry: destinations, hotels, travel

There will also be specific agendas aimed at different professional profiles, such as CEOs

To all this we must add three institutional agendas with a first-class program, in which tourist representatives from different countries, regions and cities will share their experience and knowledge, as well as the success stories put into practice to regain the trust of travelers and attract tourists back to their destinations, and also to promote sustainability and digital transformation. This is the case of tourist destinations such as Berlin, Gothenburg, Dubrovnik, Amsterdam, Bologna, Valencia, and countries such as Colombia, Mexico, Finland and Greece.

To all of the above, we must add three other activities that are worth highlighting. The first is the Tourism Innovation Awards 2022, awards intended to recognize those ideas and projects that, based on technological innovation and sustainability, have managed to respond more effectively to the challenges of the present and revolutionize the current landscape. These prizes will be awarded at a gala dinner to be held on Thursday, November 3.

The Touristech Startup Fest will also take place on the morning of Friday, November 4, a competition in which more than 400 startups that have the most innovative, technological and sustainable projects designed for the tourism sector participate. Among all of them, there will be 40 selected who will have the opportunity to present their project in front of investors, business angels and leading companies in the industry that attend TIS to discover the most disruptive digital proposals.

Also, on Wednesday, November 2, the Remarkable Venue Awards 2022 will be awarded for the second time, prizes organized by the Tiqets platform that recognize the best museums and tourist attractions around the world.

With this third edition, TIS confirms its outstanding role as a space for meeting, reflection and generation of new ideas for a tourism industry that is committed to continuing to innovate and develop sustainably with the intention of continuing to provide unforgettable experiences to its customers and travelers.
