The threat arrives in a balloon

The United States and China are at odds again and this time the reason for the conflict is the presence of a balloon in the American skies. One, from his ignorance in matters of a military nature, believes that the armies of the world spy on each other through sophisticated satellite systems that allow detecting the movement of an ant from a device that is in the stratosphere. It is only necessary to remember some anti-terrorist actions perpetrated by the United States or Israel with an extraordinary level of precision.

And without going any further, Ukraine has achieved a very important military advantage in its war against Russia thanks to the information provided by the multiple commercial satellites that are in orbit. First, US intelligence was able to detect, thanks to them, the troop movements that heralded the invasion a year ago now when international public opinion did not believe that this could happen. And once the fighting started, the Ukrainian army has easily detected the Russian troops, especially the tanks, and this is what has allowed it to decimate its opponent so much. What's more, the satellite images have made it easier for them to report alleged war crimes committed by the Russians.

Well, in this world that is so advanced from a technological point of view, it is striking that China is accused of wanting to spy from a simple balloon. Security experts do not take it as a joke and ensure that these aerostatic devices can carry daytime and thermal cameras, as well as radars. They are certainly not like ordinary balloons that rise low to the ground, as these can fly well above the altitude of commercial aviation. The Chinese balloon deviated from its route and appeared in Montana near – by golly – a US military base. Another one was reported yesterday that was flying over South America. In the Pentagon they are convinced that China uses this route for espionage missions. And given the doubts that its presence aroused, the military authorities decided yesterday to shoot it down when it was over the sea after touring various states. We will now see what the Chinese reaction is. Diplomatic conflict looms over the happy globe.
