The third person involved in the kidnapping of the Badalona boy, Enoc Pérez, was arrested in Honduras

On December 2, 2019, Enoc Misael Pérez Chinchilla, who was 12 years old at the time -he turned 15 on November 13-, was kidnapped in Honduras by a gang of hit men, when he was visiting his paternal family. The kidnappers killed the grandfather and an uncle, as well as the woman who was taking care of the little boy. Since then Enoc has been missing and there has been no news of his whereabouts. A few days ago, the police arrested a third suspect, who appears to be the mastermind of the operation, with which they hope to be able to solve the case.

The Honduran police, three days after the disappearance of the little student from Badalona, on December 5, 2019, arrested one of the suspects in a shopping center. Bayron Humberto Meléndez "El Brujo", 29 years old, who entered prison. The detainee died suspiciously in his maximum security cell in the La Tolva prison, on December 12, 2020, hanging from a beam, without having provided any information about the kidnapping.

A few days ago, the Honduran National Anti-Kidnapping Unit (UNAS) arrested Agner Vega, 42, who is supposed to be the leader of the gang of hitmen known as "Los Pesperos" thanks to information provided by the residents of some hamlets in the village of Ilama, when he was going to San Pedro Sula. Enoc's family had offered a reward of 9,000 euros to whoever facilitated the arrest, whose whereabouts nobody knew and was one of the most wanted criminals in the country.

The news has been welcomed by Enoc's mother, Karen Chinchilla, who lives and works in Badalona, who through social networks asked the Honduran government to "do everything possible to get the truth out" of the detainee, in order to "find out what they did to my son.

On the other hand, Julio Trochez, from the Hondureños Solidarios association in Barcelona, has demanded justice and reminded the authorities of his country that there is "a Honduran mother who has been suffering for more than three years, anguished" supported by Hondurans residing in Catalonia, who demand that their government "clarify the case and not use scapegoats to shelve it."

In parallel, from Badalona, the city where Karen Chinchilla currently resides, its mayor, the socialist Rubén Guijarro, is in contact with the Spanish Government Delegation in Barcelona so that they pressure the Honduran ambassador. Along these lines, the mayor has planned a meeting with the mother of the kidnapped minor to provide her with the support of the municipal corporation.
