The Cobla i Corda de Catalunya Symphony (SCCC), the musical project promoted by the Metalquímia Foundation, premieres its new project, Hymns of the Heart, in which they revisit great themes from the history of music, today at the Girona Auditorium. A work in which artists such as Beth, Manu Guix, La Pau and Joan Garrido and the Polifònica de Puig-reig collaborate.

The project will take the audience at the Girona Auditorium -in three concerts between this Friday and Sunday- on an emotional journey through some of the melodies of the last three hundred years that have become universal hymns.

They will sound from Beethoven's Ode to Joy to I will survive, by Gloria Gaynor, going through Amazing Grace, El cant dels ocells, L'Empordà or Highway to hell, among other songs.

The promoter of the SCCC project, Josep Lagares, from the Fundació Metalquímica, highlights that this new work "reflects melodies that belong to everyone and at the same time to nobody, they are hymns that, regardless of age, ideology, gender, language, nationality or skin color unite us as people".

Hymns del cor is the second project of the cycle Get excited with the Symphony of Cobla and Corda that the SCCC inaugurated last June with a selection of the 25 best pieces edited by the Girona record label Música Global in commemoration of its 25th anniversary .

The Cobla i Corda de Catalunya Symphony was born in 2008, promoted by the company Metalqumia and its foundation with the objective of creating a large format Catalan symphony orchestra, which would unite the string and percussion instruments of a conventional symphony orchestra and the sound of the wind instruments of the cobla.

This is how the winds of La Principal de La Bisbal and the strings and percussion of the Youth Orchestra of the Girona Regions came together, to finally create the Symphony of Cobla and Corda de Catalunya.
