The sunset of the Moncayo mountain

I am passionate about the Aragonese region, author of a tourist guide and a website. I have captured this spontaneous photograph for La Vanguardia Readers' Photos that I took with my Samsung S20 FE in Magallón.

At the time of taking this snapshot I was in the Las Cuevas neighborhood and, on the horizon, we can see the Moncayo mountain after sunset.

Magallón is a municipality in Zaragoza that is on the Camino de Santiago de Soria, also called Castellano-Aragonés, which passes through this town.

The Huecha River irrigates the surroundings of the town, where the Pedregosa (501 meters) and Agudo (460 meters) hills stand out. But, in this image the Moncayo is the protagonist, a mountain range 15 km long and about 7 km wide that gives its name to the region of Tarazona and Moncayo.

The highest peak, San Miguel (2314 m) is the highest point of the Iberian System, 500 km long. It is not strange that it is usually covered in snow between October and May of each year.
