Up to 100% subsidized transport passes to travel by train can be requested from this Monday. "On August 8, Renfe will open its website to register and, thus, be able to acquire the free Suburban, Rodalies and Media Distancia Conventional season tickets from August 24," explained the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez.
In this way, the application period will open on Monday and the first installments would arrive a couple of weeks later, on Wednesday, August 24, although they can only be used for trips from September 1. The discount will be valid until December 31.
The Cercanía, Rodalies and Media Distancia services will have a 100% discount on subscriptions and multi-trip tickets. The Avant will have a direct reduction of 50%.
For regular users of AVE services without a public provision alternative and whose travel time is less than 100 minutes, a special voucher will be designed that will reduce the cost by 50%. The lines that will have these new passes are Madrid-Palencia, Madrid-Zamora, León-Valladolid, Burgos-Madrid, León-Palencia, Burgos-Valladolid, Ourense-Zamora, Palencia-Valladolid, Huesca-Zaragoza, León-Segovia, Segovia -Zamora, Palencia-Segovia, Medina del Campo-Zamora.
Municipal public transport, for its part, will be subsidized so that there are discounts of 30%, which can be completed up to 50% or 60%.
As previously announced, a deposit will have to be left. In the case of suburban services, this deposit will be 10 euros, in the case of medium and long-distance trains, 20 euros. The payment will be recovered at the end of December provided that a minimum of 16 trips have been made in the four months in which it will be valid, through the same payment method used for your purchase.
The titles are expected to "almost certainly" be in a personal capacity, to prevent them from being shared.
