The sky catches Abrera's gaze

I share in La Vanguardia Readers' Photos this series of photographs of the sunset in Abrera, in Baix Llobregat, with the impressive sky that caught my eye.

The little sheep take over the sky. Normally, these types of clouds predict a change in weather. In fact, the saying goes: "Heavy sky, wet before three days" (in Catalan, "al cel cabretes i al terra pastetes").

The presence of a middle cloud layer, altocumulus stratiformis, coincides with the candilazo phenomenon, a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors that ranges from pink to the most intense orange.

As part of the phenomenon of dispersion of sunlight, in the morning and afternoon hours, when the sun is closer to the horizon, the light that reaches the Earth is soft tones between red and orange.

The special texture that clouds acquire in the sky makes it popularly resemble a surface between brick or cotton.

The bricked sky is not only part of the phenomena that we can observe, but it has been incorporated into our popular culture, for example, with the following tongue twister: "The sky is bricked, who will unbrick it? The bricklayer who unbricks it, good bricklayer will be". And, also, we can see it reflected with the saying: “Brick sky, after three days wet ground.”
