The rector of the Complutense who awarded Ayuso is re-elected amid accusations of fraud

The same day that Joaquín Goyache decided to distinguish Isabel Díaz Ayuso as an illustrious student of the Complutense for her "professional merits", the rector of the university center knew that her candidacy for re-election would be marked by her controversial decision. What he didn't know is that she wouldn't be the last. Goyache has been re-elected amid accusations of fraud in which the president of Nuevas Generaciones (NNGG) of Madrid, Ignacio Dancausa, has been implicated.

The controversy has even overshadowed the results of the second round in which Goyache has won with 54.9% of the votes the dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Esther del Campo (44.6%), in whose department formed by Pablo Iglesias and Íñigo Errejón. And all after the National Police identified Dancausa, along with other members of the organization, for obstructing the elections.

The youth leader of the PP in Madrid was located on the Complutense campus with a significant number of envelopes in which the Goyache ballot was already included, the candidate for whom the conservative sector was betting.

Sources from Esther del Campo's candidacy have denounced what happened before the electoral board of the University. Including the posters that read 'Voting for Esther de Campo is allowing Podemos to govern our university ideologically for the next 6 years'.

However, the PP of Madrid has affirmed to Europa Press that it has remained "totally respectful and oblivious to the electoral process" that the Complutense University of Madrid is currently experiencing.

Through the electoral board, Goyache will be in charge of the largest face-to-face university in Spain for the next six years. "I am very satisfied with the result because, after four very hard years, in the end we have had the support of the Complutense community and I am tremendously grateful but also with a great responsibility. There are some very complex years of adaptation to the Organic Law of the System University (LOSU) and you have to do many things for the university", he said.

After obtaining the majority support of almost all sectors, including students, Goyache hopes to "work for everyone. Working all together, the future will be promising," he added in an audio message from his campaign headquarters in the Faculty of Dentistry.

With 100% scrutiny, the rector has achieved the majority support of almost all sectors, including Permanently Associated PhD Professors (PDVP), whose weight in the weighting is much higher than that of the other groups, with 1,377 supports compared to to the 923 of his opponent.
