The Sevillian bullfighter Juan Ortega has made a lot of headlines in recent hours. The nearly 500 guests were already arriving at the church of Santiago, in Jerez, and the bride was beginning to get dressed when the bullfighter thought it was the right thing to do to stop the wedding. This was revealed this Saturday by the ABC media in Seville. The couple, who had been in a relationship for around a decade, had planned to get married in the young doctor's birthplace, however, he had decided not to go ahead with the wedding.
According to different sources pointed out to the aforementioned media, the bullfighter would have let the bride know that "he has doubts" about this marriage, which is why he wanted to suspend the marriage. This surprised everyone, since it happened one day after the pre-wedding ceremony among friends and family. The news fell like a bucket of cold water on the guests, who were already prepared for the wedding, especially on the bride's family, who "can't believe what happened."
As reported by La Voz del Sur, the bullfighter's family alludes to "personal circumstances" that would have led him to make this decision. "There is no right to do so much harm to a person on what was going to be a very happy day," a guest said online. Many of the guests ended up going to eat in the center of Jerez after seeing that the meeting was cancelled. The guests were quite upset, in general. Among those attending the wedding there were also recognized faces, especially from the world of bullfighting, such as Curro Romero, Pepe Luis Vargas, Juan José Padilla, Morante de la Puebla or Roca Rey.
For his part, Ortega headed to Seville, to the house he shares with the woman he was going to marry. At the moment, nothing is known about the couple's future, nor what point their relationship is at. The bride's family is very hurt, as reported by the aforementioned local media. It is also unknown if the pre-wedding party could have influenced Ortega's decision. However, what is a reality is that the story is still striking because it is not very common.
