The RBLS festival expands its theater program for young people in 6 Catalan cities

The RBLS theater festival for young people returns for its sixth edition with a more extensive program distributed throughout the Catalan territory. This year the different scenic proposals are located between Barcelona, Granollers, Sabadell, Sant Joan Despí, Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Viladecans, between October 28 and November 20.

Thus, RBLS is committed to "weaving a network between the different cultural actors that promote youth culture in the Catalan territory", explained Carme Tierz, artistic director of the festival.

Some of the names that make up the 2022 program are Oriol Pla (Ragazzo), Hermanas Picohueso (Excalibur and other stories of dead animals), Júlia Barbany Arimany (Official presentation of the gadgets for our salvation). In its proposals, each initiative aims to explore different concerns or problems that mainly affect adolescents and young people.

With this central axis, the work that stands out the most in the programming is CR

"We have carried out in-depth field work, speaking with adolescents in institutes and with psychologists", explained Miquel Mas Fiol, director and playwright of the play. Thus, a text has been cultivated from "honesty, commitment and without artificialities", has also highlighted Àngels Largo, co-producer of the work.

On the other hand, apart from the established programming in the theaters, RBLS also offers activities to encourage young people to participate in the creative processes of the performing arts. For example, this year the festival continues to be linked to projects for adolescent audiences at La Brutal or LaJoven.

Also, to commemorate music and collective memory, the festival offers the RBLS TEEN PROJECT, a community stage creation project in which young people from the Les Roquetes neighborhood (Barcelona) will participate.

In addition, RBLS APOSTA returns in this edition, the Youth Theater Fair that aims to serve as a professional promoter of emerging stage projects. According to Tierz, "it is vitally important to help projects move within industry circles and thus facilitate these meetings."

The festival is not disassociated from the pedagogical potential of the performing arts and for this reason it organizes the RBLS PRO, aimed at teachers and educators, and also to provide companies with tools for team management as an essential element for collective creations.

Finally, RBLS also offers free workshops open to young people at the Nau Ivanow, the theater that has always been essential for the organization of the festival.

This is how the RBLS youth theater festival returns, with a broader program and more distributed among 6 Catalan cities. You can check all the dates and prices of the activities on the official website of the festival, which will take place between October 28 and November 20.
