The rains hit Castellón: 198 l/m2, the rescue of a trapped person and numerous bilges

The rains have been seen strongly this morning in the province of Castellón and, specifically, the city has come to record 198 l/m2, of which 150 were in two hours. In addition, the firefighters have intervened with numerous water drains and have rescued a person who had been trapped in his vehicle.

As reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the Castellón rain gauge was on the verge of overflowing this morning, registering 198 l/m2, 150 in two hours.

For their part, the Castellón Provincial Consortium has reported that they have received a total of 19 notices of services related to the storm, most of them in Benicàssim, where it continues to rain.

Precisely in this municipality, firefighters have mobilized to rescue a person from inside the vehicle in which they had been trapped by water.

For its part, '112' has registered 90 cases of rain between 00:00 and 06:00 in, mainly, the city of Castelló (90%) for reasons of drainage, blocked vehicles and some rescue. Other affected municipalities (10% of cases) have been Borriana, Almassora, Benicàssim and Onda, as reported by the Emergency Coordination Center (CCE).

Regarding the precipitation recorded in the last four hours according to Avamet, Castelló has recorded 160.6; Alba Valley, 96.2; Pobla Tornesa, 90.4; Benicassim, 83; Almassora, 81.2; and Villanova d'Alcolea, 69.6.
