The Pyrenees claims its native horses

This weekend, the Puigcerdà Fair was held, with its 42nd horse competition, which we attended in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

It is a market in which, among a multitude of public, transactions of animals are carried out, almost all of them are sold, more than a thousand, with buyers coming from all over the country, but also from France, Italy, Andorra...

The Puigcerdà horse fair is, in fact, one of the most important in Europe, since the sale and purchase of horses is still active. It is a point of reference for the Cerdanya cattle farmers, who close many deals.

Now, the Puigcerdà fair is historical, since its origins date back to June 1182. In addition, today it is multisectoral, so it has also had a range of stalls where various products were exhibited and sold.

In this edition of the horse competition, more than a thousand specimens of the native breed of the Pyrenees have been seen.

One of the most anticipated and interesting events of this Cerdanya fair is when the time for the morphological contest arrives, because that is when the best specimens are presented.
