The PSOE has raised the letter of its candidate to preside over the Congress, while the Popular Party, which also aspires to preside over the Lower House, has not yet revealed who its candidate will be. That letter bears the name of Francia Armengol, who has been a member of the PSOE of the Balearic Islands since the 1990s. According to the Socialists, Armengol "treasures extensive experience and service in public and parliamentary life."
