The PSOE has proposed to the PDeCAT in Congress to introduce an amendment that would modify the article of the Criminal Procedure Law that allowed the withdrawal of the seat to the pro-independence leaders even before being sentenced by the procés, according to what has been advanced this Sunday night by the Efe agency citing sources from the ex-convergent formation.
The amendment would condition the withdrawal of a deputy from the seat to the fact that the crime for which he is prosecuted is serious or very serious, carries a penalty of disqualification or suspension of the same nature and has been committed with violence or intimidation. This legal modification related to the process would be added to the elimination of the crime of sedition and the modification of embezzlement, already approved in Congress and which are awaiting their processing in the Senate.
A procedure, in any case, that is also pending what the Constitutional Court can resolve this Monday on the appeal presented by the PP.
