The PSOE negotiates to investigate the Catalunya operation

The PSOE knocked down this Tuesday with its votes the investigative commissions that passed through the Congress Table, but it has not yet decided whether it will support the one requested by ERC, EH-Bildu and Grupo Plural “on the alleged interference with the sovereignty of the Principality of Andorra by Spanish political leaders, as well as vigilante networks within the framework of the so-called 'Operation Catalunya'”, which is debated in plenary on Thursday.

This Tuesday he voted at the Table, together with PP and Vox, to reject the full approval of the requests from investigation commissions on the deaths in the jump to the Ceuta fence last June, on the scandal of the Uber papers, and on the media ramifications of the police sewers, around the wiretaps made public last July by Commissioner Villarejo.

The Socialists argue that this last matter falls within the remit of the current Kitchen Commission, whose work they want to extend, and that the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, will give explanations next week about what happened in Ceuta.

As for the proposal for a new investigation into Operation Catalunya, the Socialists are negotiating with the proponent groups - Esquerra, Bildu and Grupo Plural - to convert this new commission into an extension of the deadlines and tasks of the Kitchen commission, a negotiation that is advanced and hope to close before tomorrow's vote.
