The PSC requests that Barcelona City Council condemn the pro-independence cuts in La Meridiana

The municipal group of the PSC, which is part of the municipal government of Barcelona, will request tomorrow, in the Presidency commission of the City Council, that the Barcelona City Council condemn the cuts on Avenida Meridiana that have once again been carried out by pro-independence protesters.

The president of the socialist group and third deputy mayor of the Barcelona City Council, Laia Bonet, argues in the presentation of the motion that on February 10 and 11 the Meridiana Resisteix platform and the ANC once again cut off traffic on Avenida Meridiana. The cuts occurred coinciding with the start of the trial of the leader of Junts Laura Borràs.

Avenida Meridiana, the Socialists point out, "is considered a main artery, and cutting road traffic seriously harms the residents of the entire city and the districts of Sant Andreu and Nou Barris.

The motion urges the Barcelona City Council to "condemn the cuts in Meridiana called by entities such as the ANC and Meridiana Resisteix with the support of former president Carles Puigdemont, which alter coexistence and seriously affect commercial activity and mobility in the affected neighborhoods and to the whole of the city".

Likewise, it urges the entities, political parties and people with institutional responsibilities to join this condemnation to restore the normality altered during the long months that these unfortunate events have occurred.
