The PSC criticizes the "paralysis" of the tripartite government of Girona and the "lack of a solid project"

The spokeswoman for the PSC in Girona City Council, Sílvia Paneque, this morning accused the tripartite municipal government, formed by Guanyem, Junts and ERC, of "paralysis", "lack of push" and of not having a "solid project" to the city

The socialist spokesperson has made this assessment coinciding with the hundred days of Lluc Salellas (Guanyem) taking office as mayor of the city, thanks to an agreement with Junts and ERC.

A municipal government that, according to Paneque, "is caught by the hair" since it considers that there is no "common project." "It is a continuity government that suffers the same paralysis, but it is more expensive and less transparent," he said.

Given what they consider a "lack of ambition for the city", the socialists present several proposals to the government team that affect several fields. Firstly, they consider that an "investment shock plan" is needed to promote the competitiveness of the economic fabric.

Advancing sustainable tourism, improving coexistence with cycle tourists, strengthening local commerce, improving cleanliness, security and lighting are some of the proposals they make in this field.

In the housing section, they consider the million euros per year that the municipal government committed to investing in social housing to be completely "insufficient." "More powerful investments are necessary, strategies against empty apartments," said the socialist spokesperson.

In the cultural field, Paneque has asked "what happens with the Casa Pastors, the Provincial Archive or the Library of the Casa de Cultura?" and has regretted that in a hundred days no announcement has been made about these equipments, which the city has not yet finished clearing.

Another point that has influenced is security. He points out that the ratio of crimes per thousand inhabitants "is worrying." Councilor Josep Palouzié pointed out that Girona is the third city in Catalonia with the highest rate.

In this sense, they demand a map of unsafe points, the opening of the Santa Eugènia police station and the growth of the Municipal Police staff by ten more agents, considering that the current one is "understaffed."

The need to expand the Palau sports pavilion and build a new one on the left of the Ter River, as well as the construction of a daycare center and the improvement of parks and gardens, which they point out "are very deteriorated," are other proposals that they make the municipal tripartite.

"We want to be proactive and make ourselves available to the government to work on these issues," said Paneque.
