The Prosecutor’s Office has requested unconditional imprisonment for two of the detainees for their alleged involvement in the shooting of former politician Alejo Vidal-Quadras in the center of Madrid on November 9. According to tax sources, they are accused of attempting a terrorist murder.

For the third detainee, the romantic partner of one of the detainees, the judge, also at the request of the prosecutor, has agreed to her freedom but with the withdrawal of her passport and the obligation to attend the Court every two weeks.

The Prosecutor’s Office understands that for the two men, arrested in Lanjarón (Granada) and Fuengirola (Málaga), there is a risk of flight. This was requested by the judge of the National Court, Francisco de Jorge, after the three detainees had taken statements for five hours. They are related to the preparations for the attack on the founder of Vox although they are not considered material authors. The Police are still looking for a fourth person involved, who could be the one who shot with the intention of killing the politician, the leader of the Catalan PP.

The perpetrators of the shooting fled on a motorcycle, which was later found burned in the Madrid town of Fuenlabrada. The investigators managed to identify the license plate that led them to an individual in Mijas (Málaga).

The three arrested in Andalusia for their alleged involvement in the shooting of former politician Alejo Vidal-Quadras in the center of Madrid on November 9 will appear in court next Saturday.

The 78-year-old former politician was urgently hospitalized after being shot in the face, although he was finally discharged this Thursday after undergoing surgery for the double jaw fracture, fifteen days after the attack. The police believe that the attack may be related to Iran, due to Vidal-Quadras’ support for the opposition against the regime in this country.
