The Prosecutor's Office investigates the fire in Castellón and Teruel that burned 4,700 hectares

The Castellón Provincial Prosecutor's Office has opened criminal investigation proceedings for the Villanueva de Viver fire, which devastated around 4,700 hectares of forest in the interior regions of Castellón and part of Teruel.

These proceedings have been transferred to the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Segorbe, as confirmed by the public ministry and the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, and are waiting for the Nature Protection Service ( Seprona) of the Civil Guard send the extension of the report that has given rise to this investigation.

Within the framework of this investigation, the Civil Guard has already summoned four people who carried out maintenance work in the place where the flames originated to testify, as explained on March 25 by the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé.

However, the court has not yet made any summons or charged anyone in the framework of this case, which is officially open for a forest fire crime.
