The Prosecutor's Office asks to remove Emilio Hellín, convicted of murder, as Borràs's expert

The Prosecutor's Office has requested the removal of Emilio Hellín as Laura Borràs' expert in the case for dividing contracts while he was in charge of the Institution of Catalan Letters (ILC), according to ElDiario.es and confirmed by Gonzalo Boye, the president's lawyer of Together

Hellín, who is now known as Luis Enrique, was a militant of the far-right formation Fuerza Nueva and was convicted of the kidnapping, torture and murder in 1980 of the 19-year-old Yolanda González, whom he suspected of being part of ETA.

“Whoever has transgressed the law and the right in this way cannot be considered a valid cooperator in any act of justice,” the prosecution says in its brief, according to the digital. Hellín took advantage of a prison permit to flee to Guatemala, but was arrested some time later by Interpol and returned to prison.

Boye, in statements to ACN, believes that everything is "a smoke screen orchestrated by the prosecutor so that no one notices the content of the expert report" of Hellín. He has added that the order was made more than a year and a half ago, but now they resort to it because they do not like its conclusions. According to him, Hellín's work as an expert managed to convict José Bretón for the murder of his two children.
