The Popular Party will hold a plenary session governing all the Andalusian capitals thanks to the agreement closed this Friday with Jaén Deserves More. Thus, the popular Agustín González will be the new mayor of the only one of the eight provincial capitals that the PP lacked.
After the municipal elections of 28M, in which the popular ones devastated a large part of the Andalusian territory, Jaén was the only Andalusian capital pending closure who would head its municipal government and the key was in the hands of Jaén Deserves More with its three councilors after the tie to 11 ediles between PP and PSOE, that was the most voted force.
It has been days of negotiations in which the Socialists came to offer them three council positions and reserve the mayorship for them for the last year of their term, even this Thursday the still mayor Julio Millán opened the door to vote for the Jaén candidate Deserves More, all to prevent the PP reached the mayoralty of the city. Finally, provincial formation has opted for the popular.
In a joint appearance this afternoon, the PP and Jaén Merece Más have announced the agreement, which contemplates the entry into the municipal government of the three mayors of Jaén Merece Más, who will hold the first tenure of mayor and the areas of socioeconomic convergence, employment , culture and heritage, among others.
The agreement has been signed under a notary by the president of Jaén Deserves More, Juanma Camacho, and by the general secretary of the PP-A, Antonio Repullo, who has piloted the negotiations from the popular ranks.
What they have dubbed the "Agreement for Jaén" includes 101 measures in the short, medium and term, including the "immediate" start-up of the tram (paralyzed since 2011) or support for the Defense Technology Center, Cetedex, which is the star project of the Government of the nation for Jaén.
Those responsible for Jaén Merece Más have stressed that a monitoring commission will be created for the agreement, and have warned that "in case of non-compliance" there will be an "immediate rupture" of the agreement.
The PP and Vox have reached an investiture agreement for Pilar Miranda to be the first female mayor in the history of Huelva, which translates into a programmatic commitment based on ten essential points shared by both programs. In this way, Vox will vote for its own candidate, Wenceslao Font, to thus facilitate "compliance with the majority will of the people of Huelva."
The one who will be named mayor this Saturday, Pilar Miranda, explained that the programmatic agreement includes "a series of projects that both parties carried in our electoral programs, projects that are going to be beneficial for Huelva." "Huelva wanted a change and the political parties must work together, with dialogue and consensus, to put Huelva in the place it deserves", she highlighted.
For his part, Wenceslao Font has stated that "in order to promote the change that the people of Huelva have requested at the polls this 28M", and to "avoid a new left-wing municipal government that weighs down the development of the capital", it has closed an agreement for the investiture of the PP that contemplates, among other measures, "that Huelva families will be at the center of public policies."
"Vox will continue in the opposition, exercising it in a critical but constructive way, and ensuring good management, as we have done in these four years. For this reason, at the City Council Constitution Plenary, I present myself as mayor for Vox, thus asserting the votes we have received and have made us the third political force in the city", explained Wenceslao Font.
