The PP suspends from militancy the mayor of Cuenca who seriously insulted Irene Montero

The PP Rights and Guarantees Commission has decided to suspend its mayor in Villar de Cañas (Cuenca), José María Saíz, from militancy for the insults he uttered in an interview against the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, last February, to the affirm that "his mouth is full of sores from sucking the pigtails". As soon as these statements were made known, the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, ordered the opening of an information file given the seriousness of the words spoken about "a minister of the Government of Spain."

"There are hundreds of reasons to censor Irene Montero's career as a minister, but not everything goes in politics," said Feijóo, who added that "I will not accept any attack on the dignity of a woman under the acronym of the PP." The informative file has given rise to the decision of this Tuesday of the Guarantees Commission of the PP, to suspend Saíz from militancy and open a disciplinary file, "in response to the allegations presented" by the affected party.

The Guarantees Commission of the PP makes this decision despite the fact that as soon as he saw the reaction of both Feijóo and the president of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Núñez, he apologized, through his Facebook account, to the people who could have felt offended, and especially the Minister for Equality, and added: "I should have criticized his, in my opinion, disastrous political management, without undermining his personal dignity."

The mayor of Villar de Cañas said in his defense that the statements about Irene Montero had been made to the journalist who had interviewed him, in an informal conversation, and that he did not believe they would be published, an argument that has not served the Rights and Guarantees Commission of the PP.
