The PP sells Moreno's management to add Vox and PSOE voters

"We do not have a candidate, we have a president." This phrase, pronounced by the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, in the Andalusian pre-campaign, is a true reflection of what the popular want to convey: management and circumscribe the elections to Andalusia. From the Board, and with the good data from the polls, the PP knows that it has an asset "Juanma Presidente", as the motto of the popular ones says, which obtains a valuation of 6.28 points, which implies a good image outside of the PP.

However, they do not want to arouse rejection among the electorate. Neither to his right, because the PP aspires to recover the popular votes that went to Vox, nor to his left, not only because of Cs, but also because of the PSOE voter, the one who longs for Felipe González and Alfonso Guerra and who is disappointed with Pedro Sánchez.

When you aspire to obtain the vote of such a broad spectrum of citizens, the task seems almost impossible, but it is what they say the Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno, is going to try. In the PP they consider that it will be the only way to approach the absolute majority that would provide him with the possibility that Feijóo seeks so much, getting rid of the need to agree with Vox to form a government.

That is the goal that they have set for themselves so as not to depend on the ultra-nationalists after the harsh experience in Castilla y León. Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, who thought he was the winner when calling the elections, had no choice but to form a coalition government with the formation of Santiago Abascal. A situation that many consider has become a burden for Feijóo.

And it is that, although the PP wants to carry out a campaign based exclusively on Andalusia, the PP leaders themselves do not pretend that what happens in this community can mean a change of cycle at the state level. Moreno assured yesterday that “a severe defeat of the PSOE on June 19” would put the Government of Pedro Sánchez in a “difficult situation”.

At the moment, the popular tactic is to ignore Vox. Neither show collusion, nor confront the ultranationalists. The fear is to turn those of Abascal into victims so that they can get electoral revenue from it. For this reason, they attribute to the PSOE the move to cancel the registration of Macarena Olona so that she could not be a candidate.

The PP is aware that a part of its electorate would not understand a direct confrontation with Vox, since many of its voters applaud pacts such as the one with Castilla y León. The popular Andalusians, therefore, try not to talk about Vox and focus on Moreno's management.

Those responsible for the campaign of the Andalusian president think that capturing the Vox voter can achieve the long-awaited majority that would separate them from the ultranationalists to govern alone. Something similar to what happened in the Community of Madrid, where Isabel Díaz Ayuso obtained a more than wide distance that allowed her not to have to form a coalition executive with the formation of Abascal.

However, PP leaders point out that, despite the fact that the polls are very favorable to their aspirations, they fear the demobilization of their electorate. They consider that the message of assured victory can reach them and that on June 19 they stay at home. For this reason, the deployment of the PP is more intense than ever.

The campaign design follows the same principle as that imposed by Núñez Feijóo in Galicia. Presence of the national leader of the PP, yes, but contained and outside of Moreno. The candidacy of "Juanma" does not need any support, and what Feijóo can do is go where he cannot, they say in his team. Six days of campaigning by the national president seems enough, for now. The barons already had their role in the pre-campaign, with acts by Fernando López Miras, Isabel Díaz Ayuso and Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, also without Juanma Moreno, alone, to add. The PP seeks moderation and tranquility, the two main assets that their supporters recognize in Moreno.
