The PP proposes to support the PSPV to mitigate the fiscal impact of the climate change law

The processing of the future Climate Change Law puts in check, once again, the leftist parties that govern the Valencian Community. The presentation of amendments alone by the PSPV to mitigate the fiscal impact of a regulation drawn up by the Valencian Government itself has generated a lot of discomfort among its government partners. An anger that could increase if, finally, these amendments go ahead with the votes of the opposition.

Yesterday the PP spokeswoman in the Corts Valencianes, María José Catalá, pointed out that her party's intention is that, next week, her amendment be approved in its entirety. However, aware that the majority of the left will not allow a rule that comes out of the Consell to be rejected by the Chamber, the leader of the PP was willing to "assess" those proposals that minimize the fiscal impact of the rule. "Let's see it, we don't rule out anything at all," she said regarding the amendments presented by the Socialists.

As explained by La Vanguardia, the PSPV presented three amendments without the support of Compromís and Unides Podem, to reduce the tax impact of the new green regulations. Thus, the socialists demanded - thinking of the tile sector of Castellón, badly hit by the energy crisis - that greenhouse gas emissions made from facilities that emit less than 25,000 tons of CO2 per year will be exempt.

Likewise, they claimed not to tax those small and medium-sized companies that are only subject to a municipal license.

Some changes that their partners do not share, as it became clear yesterday. "We don't like them, if we hadn't signed them," explained the spokesperson for Compromís in the regional Parliament, Papi Robles. Both she and the Unides Podem deputy, Ferran Martínez, emphasized the fact that the tax figures and their application had been agreed upon within the Valencian Government and expressed their hope that the PSPV would be "coherent" and "loyal". ” and they could reach an agreement.

A pact between partners that the socialist trustee, Ana Barceló, did not rule out, recalling that the Botànic always rushes negotiations. However, the socialist leader pointed out that her amendments were "reasonable and understandable" and she defended the difficulty of sectors such as ceramics to make such far-reaching changes.

And in the midst of this dispute, the PP, willing to support those alternative measures that do not penalize economic activity at a time like the present with skyrocketing energy prices.
