The PP offers Sánchez its votes to reform the law "of only yes is yes"

Out of respect for the victims, because in the face of the consequences there is no room for "neither discussions nor negotiations", Alberto Núñez Feijóo called on Pedro Sánchez to reform now, urgently, without waiting any longer, the reform of the law of yes is yes, because " As much embarrassment and as much damage as the one that the victims are suffering, makes it unacceptable for the discrepancies of the Government to be broadcast in real time".

And if he cannot do it with his government and legislature partners, given the opposition, again, from the Ministry of Equality, to reforming the law, despite the fact that La Moncloa announced this weekend that it would do so, Feijóo offers the votes of the PP to do it, and to do it as soon as possible, without further delaying the decision.

"We know that the trickle of sentence reductions is not going to stop," warned Feijóo, who stressed that "in the face of an error of this magnitude, there is no room for more discussions, there is no room for more negotiations. The only thing that fits is immediate rectification, to repair the dignity of the victims". And here comes the offer of the leader of the PP: "If he does not find, for that, the support of his government partner, he will find it in the alternative that we represent."

What's more, Feijóo comes to tell the President of the Government that he would better make this rectification with the PP than with the Ministry of Equality or with Unidas Podemos, because "we guarantee him the rigor that he does not have in his Council of Ministers, I guarantee the sense of state that it does not have in its parliamentary support, and I guarantee the sensitivity that the Government has not shown with Spanish women victims of sexual violence". That is to say, it guarantees him, he said "support to modify the law of yes is yes immediately, I have or no votes in your Council of Ministers or in Congress."

The president of the PP made this offer in a speech before the national executive committee of his party, which was welcomed with applause by members of the leadership, in which Feijóo complained about the lack of information and communication between the Prime Minister and the main leader of the opposition, in very serious matters, in matters of state: "Sánchez has broken all the consensus," he said, despite the situations the country is going through.

Inflation, the war in Ukraine, and events such as the one that occurred last week in Algeciras, which is being investigated as a jihadist terrorist attack, to which the Government responds with a division that Spain cannot afford, when what would be required would be unity of governments unity of society, unity of institutions, unity of parties and unity of allies, he stressed.

As examples, the president of the PP has given, in addition to what happened with the yes is yes law, the controversy within the Government over the shipment of tanks from Ukraine, which also, for Feijóom, is also an example of the " international irrelevance" of the Government of Sánchez, since it has not participated in the decision, in addition to being an example "of the division of the Government, because "the PSOE and Podemos are not capable of complying with the international agreements" that the Executive assumes.

To this, Feijóo added the fact that "no minister of Podemos is going to be at the summit of Morocco", which for the popular president is very serious when talking about international politics and gives an example of how the Government of Pedro Sánchez works. , and the internal discrepancies within it, as well as the "lack of institutional sense of its partners" .

Feijóo complains that Pedro Sánchez has called him as the leader of the main opposition party on none of these issues, nor has he informed him of what happened in Algeciras, something that in his opinion "would not be acceptable in any other country". and that therefore ensures that it will not happen when he is president of the Government. And for this reason, he formally asked Sánchez to convene the pact against jihadist terrorism, and for the Government to explain in Congress its plans to help Ukraine.

Feijóo, who also asked Sánchez to lead the negotiation for an income Agreement that includes the increase in the Minimum Interprofessional wage and the increase in the wages of the middle and working classes, considers that Spain "needs a calm government, that politics abandon the constant shock, the daily improvisation and the permanent division".

For the president of the PP, it is essential that politics return "to the course of institutional respect, rigorous management and the country's credit", and for that, what is needed, he said, is "unity, collaboration and stability".

Feijóo doubts that Sánchez can rectify his policy and follow that path, and for this reason he believes that it is important that the PP explain to the Spanish "that another Spain is possible and that another path, in Spanish politics, is possible, before the contempt with which they treat us", but the PP said "it will continue offering institutional loyalty".

"Given the insults to the PP, its leaders and me," Feijóo said, "we will continue to offer proposals for our country; given the division that the Government shows off, we will continue to offer unity to society, and in the face of irresponsibility and instability, the PP will offer seriousness, solidity and solvency; and in the face of the radicalism and sectarianism that the Government has intervened today, we will continue to offer moderation and majority".
