The Popular Party has been on guard after the statements made by the defense of one of the politicians convicted in the case of the Andalusian ERE and, as a preventive measure, has stressed that it trusts that the Government will not commit the "outrage" of pardon former Andalusian president José Antonio Griñán before his six-year prison sentence for embezzlement of public funds.

It has been the general coordinator of the popular party, Elías Bendodo, who has made this statement during an interview on RNE in which he has even ironically pointed out that he hopes that "the rush" to renew the Constitutional Court has nothing to do with this affair.

"I'm already hearing about pardons... I don't think the government commits that outrage after a sentence that puts an end to a black stage" that was experienced in Andalusia with the socialist governments and that led to "the biggest case of corruption in the history of democracy," said Bendodo. For what he calls on the Government to offer explanations in this regard: "The silence for an answer is not the most recommended."

The right-hand man of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, in fact, has pointed to María Jesús Montero, pointing out that if the Federal Committee of the PSOE had been held next Saturday, instead of last, the Minister of Finance would not have been elected Deputy Secretary General of the PSOE given that she was a counselor in two executives led by Chaves and Griñán.

As for the third dialogue table maintained by the Government and the Generalitat, he has asked that all territories be treated "equally" and that some be not benefited over others due to "political interests of parliamentary arithmetic".

The popular leader has reminded the Executive that "the blackmailer is never satisfied with the first payment" and that, therefore, "giving more to the Catalan independence movement would be a big mistake."

Asked about one of the agreements that could come out of the meeting, the shielding of Catalan, Bendodo indicated that languages enrich the territory and that they cannot be used "to throw them in the face of the political adversary."

In this context, he has argued that the more languages young people know, the better, be it Catalan, Spanish or English, so that they can compete in international markets in the future, but also that they always learn without vetoing or excluding others.
