The PP arrives at the meeting with Ribera with the demand to withdraw the energy saving decree

Withdrawal of the decree and start from scratch. This is the approach of the PP communities, who have come to the meeting with Vice President Teresa Ribera, to talk about the energy saving decree, with the idea that if the decree is in force, it must be complied with, something that even Madrid assumes, but that it is better to approach the question from another prism.

The vice president of ecological transition, Teresa Rivera, meets from 10 in the morning with the councilors of the branch, to address the existing doubts about the decree that enters into force on Wednesday, but they have no intention of backing down with a norm , they remember from the Government, that it is necessary to apply. The meeting is also attended by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto.

The opposition of the PP to the decree is not only from the Community of Madrid, although this has been the only one that raised, at first, that "Madrid does not turn off", thus putting itself in a situation of rebellion that the rest of the communities. Andalusia, Castilla y León and Galicia, despite criticism for not having been consulted, as did the Lehendakari Íñigo Urkullu, and the President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, and agreeing on the need to establish saving measures, they agreed with "the imposition" and seek further recommendations.

But this morning, together before the meeting began, they raised the tone, and after Alberto Núñez Feijóo's request on Sunday to convene the Conference of Presidents, they are now asking for the decree to be withdrawn and to start from scratch.

The vice president of the Xunta, Francisco Conde, announced it on La Cadena Ser, and the councilor of the Community of Madrid, Carmen Martín, on Radio Nacional de España. Conde underlines, in line with Feijóo, that the temperatures will be the same in all jobs, despite the flexibility announced by the vice president and asks the Executive to suspend its application to introduce changes: "We ask that the Government listen to the communities, establish a framework for dialogue and paralyze the royal decree law so that all the contributions are collected and we find a framework of solutions. That would be the logical thing to do," he said.

Conde considers that "the royal decree does not include the principles of action established by the EU" that supports the use of "coal, nuclear energy or establishes auction measures". A framework of action that he considers "reasonable" so as not to put "commerce, services or industry" at risk.

Both the Galician vice president and the Madrid councilor consider that "the Government tries to regulate private activity as much as possible" and, instead, should "think about how to establish measures from the perspective of the public administration and make recommendations to families and businesses" .

Carmen Martín, who reproached the Government for "the improvisation that has generated political chaos", asked the Government to withdraw the Royal Decree Law, to listen to the president's conference and to analyze the economic impact that measures such as those announced by the Government can suppose.

The Madrid minister is in favor of putting an end to "coercive measures", and prefers to give "freedom to the business community" and establish "recommendations to lower the price of electricity". For Madrid, the application of the decree will be "a blow to economic activity."
