The Podem primaries ratify the renewal of the parliamentary group and the commitment to Illueca

In the Podem primaries there has been no room for surprise. The consensus around the names chosen by the leadership and the candidate Héctor Illueca himself have been overwhelmingly supported by the militancy in a process that has been closed this week.

As reported by the purple formation in a statement, both Héctor Illueca and the current regional coordinator, Pilar Lima, have been ratified as candidates for the Generalitat and the Valencia City Council. In fact, it is noted in the text with a comparison that is not trivial, that Illueca has obtained 3,272 votes, 48% more votes than his predecessor Rubén Martínez Dalmau, Podem's previous candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat.

In the rest of the autonomous candidacy there have been no surprises either, which certifies the total renewal of the parliamentary group since of the six purple deputies, only one will have options to continue in the autonomous chamber.

Thus, after yesterday's count, it has been confirmed that the candidate on the regional list for Alicante will be María Teresa Pérez, spokesperson for Podemos and director of INJUVE, followed by Alejandro Aguilar, current regional secretary of housing, and Lidia Montero, secretary of Podem's public policies.

In Castelló, Marisa Saavedra, current deputy of United We Can in the Congress of Deputies, and Irene Gómez, deputy in Corts Valencianes, have been chosen to occupy the first positions of the candidacy. The only parliamentarian of the current group that can repeat if Podem achieves, as it has now, two parliamentarians for Castelló.

Meanwhile, in Valencia, Illueca will be accompanied by Carmen Collado, general director of the Labor Inspection in the Ministry of Yolanda Díaz, and Carles Fons, organization secretary of Podem.

Podem has also chosen the municipal candidates in primaries, a process that will be complemented in the coming months with another round of candidates. In Valencia, Pilar Lima, coordinator of Podem and Síndica in Corts Valencianes, has been chosen to run for mayor. In Alicante repeats Xavi López, current councilor in the city council. In Elche, Moisés García will be Podem's candidate for mayor. In Castelló, the current resident spokeswoman for the city, Marisol Barceló, has been elected.

As they wanted to highlight from Podem, "unlike previous processes, in the primaries for next year's regional and municipal elections, the agreement has prevailed both in the preparation of the candidacies and in the proposal of head of the list, being except for the municipalities in which more than one candidacy has been presented and the one presented is also a single autonomous candidacy".
