The Official Gazette of the Generalitat publishes the appointment of the new ministers

The Official Journal of the Generalitat of Catalonia (DOGC) has published the dismissal of the Junts councilors and the appointment of the new members proposed by President Pere Aragonès. In the different decrees of this morning, Aragonès thanks the "services rendered" to the former councillors, after the exit of the Government Boards which was certified with the internal consultation last Friday.

In this way, the following councilors become part of the executive: Joaquim Nadal (Research and Universities), Carles Campuzano (Social Rights), Gemma Ubasart (Justice, Rights and Memory), Natàlia Mas (Economy and Finance), Mertixell Serret ( Foreign Action and the European Union), Juli Fernández (Territory) and Manel Balsells (Health). Tomorrow morning they will take office and then participate in the weekly meeting of the Government.

The new councilors replace the leaders who were proposed by Junts at the beginning of the legislature: Victòria Alsina, Jaume Giró, Violant Cervera, Lourdes Ciuró, Gemma Geis and Josep Maria Argimon. They also take over from Jordi Puigneró, who was fired two weeks ago after the formation of Laura Borràs and Jordi Turull asked Aragonès to submit to a question of confidence if he did not comply with the Government pact.

The DOGC also establishes the name change of three departments: that of Digital Policies and Territory will be called Territory only (the functions of the digital sphere will now fall to the Presidency, mainly, and Business and Work), that of Foreign Action and Open Government will it will be called External Action and the European Union and the Department of Justice will now be the Department of Justice, Rights and Memory.
